The HTAC Academy introduces young swimmers to the foundations of competitive swimming in a positive, supportive, and age-appropriate environment. Athletes progress through Bronze, Silver, and Gold as they develop technical skills, confidence, independence, and a lasting enjoyment of the sport.

Gold

The Gold squad is the highest level within the Academy and is designed for swimmers who have developed strong fundamental skills and are ready for increased training. The program prepares athletes for the transition into the club's competitive pathway through continued technical development and confidence in the water.

Expectations

Communication

Squad Placement

  • Gold squad placement is based on coach evaluation, technical ability, and overall program fit.
  • Squad placements may be reviewed throughout the season.

Squad Pathway

  • Athletes typically progress to Gold from Silver or remain in Gold from the previous season.
  • Gold athletes typically progress to Junior Provincial or remain in Gold.
  • Progression between squads may occur throughout the season based on coach evaluation, development, and the Head Coach's discretion.

Silver

The Silver squad is designed for swimmers who have developed strong fundamental swimming skills and are ready to build confidence through increased training and participation. The program emphasizes skill development, enjoyment, and preparation for future competitive opportunities.

Bronze

The Bronze squad is the entry level of the Academy and is designed to introduce swimmers to the fundamentals of competitive swimming in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. The program focuses on developing confidence in the water, fundamental swimming skills, and a lifelong enjoyment of the sport.
